Copy services
Due to the archival nature of the Library's collections, not every document may be copied using a photocopier or digitally. This applies in particular to items from the legal deposit collection (call numbers starting with A) and all items that are in poor condition. In such cases, photocopies can be made from secondary copies (e.g. microfilms, digital copies). If the National Library of Poland does not have a secondary copy of the item in question, the reader must pay for one to be made.
Materials may only be copied as permitted under relevant legislation, in particular the Act on Copyright and Related Rights (Journal of Laws 2021, item 1062).
Materials protected under the Act on Copyright and Related Rights may only be copied by the National Library after obtaining written/email consent from the holder of the copyright. This consent should be worded as follows:
"I, the undersigned [name and surname], being the sole authorising officer/author/legal representative of the heirs* [underline the relevant words] of the copyright to the works of [name and surname of author], hereby permit the National Library of Poland to digitally reproduce the work [title, date, BNP call number] and transfer the digital copies to [details of person placing order]".
For information on service charges, please consult the price list.
